Old Masters' Style ... Luminist Landscapes

Linda Coulter specializes in luminous landscapes using  grisaille and color glazing techniques. 

Each of these scenes were inspired by 19th Century Hudson River Luminist landscape painters.

Linda traveled to the Hudson River valley to study the Luminist Style exemplified by the art works

of the 19th Century Hudson River School of Landscape Painters.  She returned to Illinois to

teach courses in Luminist Landscapes at Lakeview Museum (a Smithsonian-affiliate museum). 

She has also taught seminars in this style at locations across the United States. 

Returning home, Linda filmed these projects and techniques for DVD Art Workshops

that are currently available at www.grisaille.com/shop.
